ground has not helped.
Hunt Cup talk as Bee Stinger continues on up
Bee Stinger has improved considerably since being
stepped up to 1m this year and he continued his progression by taking
the latest renewal of the John Smith's Brighton Mile Handicap -
the richest race of the year at the seaside venue - for Ian Wood
and Ryan Moore.
Having won his first two starts of the year, the son of Almaty had
come unstuck on his last couple of outings, but his trainer felt
he had just been unfortunate.
Wood said: "He did not have a great draw at Lingfield two starts
back where he ran into a nice horse of John Gosden's, and then he
probably got to the front too soon in a decent race at Ascot last
time.
"Ryan gave him a lovely ride and really liked him - he thinks
he could be a Hunt Cup horse next year."
Star performance
Bee Stinger gained his third success of the year
in the richest race on the card and is progressing well.
